Matthew Lukesh

I sit down with my friend and professional artist Matthew Lukesh.

Working alongside one of my best friends (And the only other person allowed to tattoo me) Josh Fields, Matt's artwork accounts for nearly half of all of my work.

While we have spent hundreds of hours together in the tattoo chair I had yet to find appropriate time to learn of his origin story.

When we met, Matt didn't know me from Jack. He still reached out his hand and offered his amazing talent to a stranger who once dreamed of getting work like only people like he could do.

Matt talks about the place he came from and the artist he has become.

I am forever grateful for his insight, commitment and friendship and look back to sitting in his chair at Platinum Rose Tattoo very soon.

Small world side note : Years ago I used to peruse tattoo magazines and the early internet. I would often come across studio who's artwork I loved. The name was "Seppuku Tattoo" . I would learn in this sit down conversation years after I met him, that he was part owner and artist at that studio.

Keoni Koch Podcast
Close personal friends. People from my past that I haven't spoken with in years. Complete and total strangers.

I recount these experiences to confirm the details of my memoirs, for my children.

I aim through these conversations to show the importance of connection in an ever disconnected world.

I believe the survival of our species depends on the adoption of radical love , unity and cooperation.
